Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises have awarded several multimillion dollar contracts to ALMACO.

The largest contract is for Celebrity’s Millennium class. ALMACO was awarded to build 60 new cabins on three Millennium-class ships between 2011 and 2012. ALMACO’s delivery will be a full turnkey for the cabin areas comprising design, interior, insulation, electrical and piping. All the ships will be drydocked at the Grand Bahamas shipyard and the project will be executed within the three-week drydock period.

During work on each ship, 43 new cabins will be added to deck 11 where new aluminum housing will be installed by a structural contractor. On deck 3, an existing conference center will be modified to accommodate 17 new cabins.

In February, Royal Caribbean International awarded ALMACO a food handling and a cabin contract for Radiance of the Seas. She was drydocked at Victoria Shipyards in Canada in May 2011. ALMACO provided food handling equipment to all new and modified catering venues. Additionally, ALMACO built 15 new passengers cabins in various locations of the ship. The project was executed in a very tight timeframe, the contracts were awarded in February 2011 and the drydock has already taken place.

For the food handling areas, ALMACO was involved in the process from the very beginning, having prepared the specifications of the entire project based on preliminary outlines from the customer. ALMACO converted existing restaurants as well as built new attractive eateries previously seen on Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas.
