ALMACO strengthens its presence in the offshore market by securing a multi-million euro order from the world’s leading owner and operator of accommodation vessels, Prosafe Offshore Ltd. ALMACO will deliver 4 complete Living Quarter blocks to Prosafe by the end of 2011.

 

ALMACO’s turnkey scope includes 386 tons of steel, 209 cabins, cafeterias, offices, local equipment rooms, corridors and all background works such as insulation, HVAC, piping, electrical and related ship wide systems. The new Living Quarter will replace existing accommodation containers on Prosafe’s Safe Caledonia vessel that currently operates in the UK Sector of the North Sea. The new modules will be classified by DNV and they are designed and built to meet UK HSE standards and for worldwide operations.

 

ALMACO will build the complete Living Quarter in Europe, which will allow ALMACO to effectively utilize its global supplier network. ALMACO’s Finland office will manage the project and company’s Project Management ToolM2 is used to steer the project and the project documentation. All design coordination will be handled in-house. The high level of prefabrication will allow ALMACO to deliver the complete Living Quarter to the owner in only 9 months. All cabins and offices will be prefabricated and pre-assembled prior to lifting onboard.

 

This new order reinforces ALMACO’s position in the offshore market as a high quality builder who is able to fulfill the most demanding rules and regulations applied to areas.
